Overview

Find out how workforce planning can maximise workforce efficiency and help your organisation to achieve their goals. In this course you’ll be guided through the process of developing and implementing a workforce plan. You’ll discover why organisations need workforce plans, how they enable organisations to achieve long-term objectives, and how workforce planning can become a continuous process that aligns to your organisation’s strategy and business planning.

You’ll learn how to examine external operating environments, analyse current and future workforce supply and demand, identify risks and opportunities, and create, implement and monitor workforce plans. At the end of this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge needed to develop, implement and monitor your own workforce plans, and ensure your organisation has the right people, with the right skills at the right time.

  2. Understanding the environment.
  3. Segmenting the workforce.
  4. Analysing the current and future state.
  5. Identifying risks and opportunities.
  6. Creating an action plan.
  7. Implementing the workforce plan.
  8. Monitoring the workforce plan

Tess Walton 

Tess Walton is a human capital strategist, practising futurist and strategic workforce planning practitioner that has been working with organisations to ready their workforce for the future. Tess' Strategic Workforce Planning methodology has won an Australian HR Institute Leadership Award, and is the premise of the Human Capital Institute Strategic Workforce Planning Certification program (the only certification in this space).

In her 15 years + experience in this field Tess has been engaged by many leading organisations globally to develop their workforce planning processes and metrics – including Aetna Health, ANZ Banking Group, AQIS, Australia Post, Australian Unity, Bupa, KPMG/BearingPoint, Deakin University, KiwiBank, Lendlease , Melbourne Children’s Hospital, Mining Industry Skills Centre, NSW Auditor General’s Office, NZ Inland Revenue, NZ Post, State Services Commission, NZ Transport Agency, NZ Customs, Toyota, Starbucks, Stockland, and Westpac.
