Field of Study - Coastal Geomorphology

Supervisor: Prof. Brian Lees

Co-Supervisor: Dr David Paull

Research Topic -The development of the Princess Charlotte Bay chenier plain

Chenier plains record changes in the mode of coastal progradation between periods of progradation of mudflat and beach ridge formation. The causes of these changes are not well understood. Several conflicting theories have been proposed, and the aim of this project is to test the several competing theories prposed for the evolution of the chenier plain in Princess Charlotte Bay, northern Queensland. This has the potential to yield information regarding late Holocene environmental processes such as climate and sea level change.
