Hints for running "Wagga"

"Wagga 2010" will be in New Zealand

It has now been confirmed that the 34th Condensed Matter and Materials Meeting (Wagga 2010) will be held at Waiheke Island (near Auckland) from 2 - 5 February, 2010.  Preliminary details are included below for your information.  Please bring this information to the attention of your colleagues and watch this space for more information as it comes to hand.


“Wagga” in New Zealand

Dates: 2 - 5 February 2010

Location: Waiheke Island - Waiheke Island Resort (www.waihekeresort.co.nz)

Max capacity: 130 participants

Conference fees will include :

Fullers return ferry ticket : Auckland - Waiheke Warf
Return bus transfer : Waiheke Warf - Resort
Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Dinner
Conference Dinner (will take place at 'The Dunes', www.onetangibay.co.nz/venue.htm)
Conference rooms & equipment hire (Waiheke Suite)
Internet access (wireless broadband available)

Conference fees (without any sponsor support so far) for full attendance will be NZ$ 445 plus accommodation costs (see below).

Accommodation at Waiheke Island Resort incl. Breakfast

There are 3 different categories of accommodation at different price levels:
  • Shared rooms/bathrooms for students (NZ$ 90 p.n)
  • Double room (single occupation), bathroom to share (NZ$ 130 p.n.)
  • Double room (single occupation), own bathroom (NZ$ 230 p.n.)

These are mainly as 2-3 bedroom units with one bathroom & kitchen.
